Policy and Religion will never go hand in hand

Over the last 8 years or so, Politics in India has become very cluttered due to one particular reason i.e. religion. The percentile of people taking an active part in politics has increased substantially at the cost of brainless and brainwashed opinions that seem to make the headlines on a day to day basis. I for one am overjoyed with the fact that so many people talk about our leaders, parties and ideology(most have none), but one must do it without the religious lens.

Now I understand that religion is very near and dear to most Indians and a way of living for a large majority of people. India's greatness USED TO lie in its great diversity of socio-cultural atmosphere, but now it's become a tool for people to use and for politicians to abuse. Society has become polarised to such an extent that people on one side of the spectrum can only judge the actions of the people on the other side and vice versa, conversations between the two have become few and far in between. Countries whose laws and policies have sugarcoating of religion on it can never progress at the rate that they should and usually leads to systematic atrocities within the people. Law and religion can go never hand in hand and this is not an opinion, it's FACT. Politicians are not gods and they certainly cannot create miracles and it is the people that need to understand this fact. Approaching a politician for help in breaking a rule may seem like a casual deal, but to break that rule for you, that politician has to break a few more rules with regards to officers and bureaucrats and so on and so forth.

As far as I am concerned, the job of a politician is the job of a service provider, You pay tax and they provide the service. The moment you add these spices of religion and emotion to it, you make their task difficult and temporarily solvable. The price that the general public pays for is the exploitation of that favour that you needed, in terms of not doing their primary job of providing service and using that money to buy your votes. Their ideology doesn't include education, health or infrastructure because you vote on the basis of religion. Politicians buy votes because people are willing to sell votes. The blog is in no way asking you to stop preaching your religion, just reason with it when it comes to voting.
